Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach

Phil Enright enters his 5th year as the Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach at Oviedo High School. Along with with his role with the baseball program he also serves as Assistant Athletic Director and Physical Education Teacher on campus at Oviedo. Enright comes to Oviedo after spending the past six years as the pitching coach at Lake Howell HS,(2014-2020). While an assistant at Lake Howell he was apart of a district title in 2018 and advancing to the FHSAA State Playoffs 4 out of 5 years. Before arriving to Lake Howell, Enright was the Head Baseball coach at New Smyrna Beach HS. In the 2013-2014 school year Enright helped lead the Cudas to a district runner-up and a spot in the FHSAA state playoffs.   

 

Enright took over after a three year stint as the Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach at DeLand High School, from 2011-2013. In his time there the pitching staff lead the county in E.R.A. in 2011 and 2012.  He also coached two MLB Amateur Draft picks, Luke Weaver 2011 and Scott Moss 2013.  Weaver went on to be a weekend starter at Florida State University and is currently on roster with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Scott Moss is currently with the Cleveland Indians on the 40-man rotation. Moss graduated form the University of Florida.  Moss also was chosen as the 2013 News-Journal Newspaper Baseball player of the year.  

 

Enright coached the 2009-2010 season at Daytona State College. Enright was the assistant pitching coach for the Falcon Baseball Team and the pitching coach for the Falcon Developmental Team. Enright joined the Falcon Baseball program after spending one season at Bethune-Cookman University. While at Cookman, Coach Enright assisted with the pitching staff; he was also the Director of Baseball Operations. He was in charge of all home game duties, team laundry, equipment, clubhouse, and helped with travel duties. Prior to joining the Wildcat coaching staff Enright spent three summers as the pitching coach for the DeLand American Legion Post 6 "Sixers."  

 

In the spring of 2009, Enright graduated from Bethune-Cookman with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
